The roommate of a missing Lakewood man will be extradited to Colorado after his arrest in Safford, Ariz., officials said.
Graham County spokeswoman Sandra Quinones could not confirm that the extradition of Ryan Hicks is related to the disappearance of Dave Noren, who was last seen in Lakewood on May 19.
Forensic evidence found at 863 Depew St. — the address Hicks and Noren share — led police to believe that Noren was most likely the victim of foul play, officials said.
7News reported Friday that police interviewed Hicks shortly after Noren’s disappearance, and that two detectives traveled to Arizona after Hicks’ May 27 arrest for criminal damage, disorderly conduct and misdemeanor threatening.
The charges are related to a case of domestic violence, Quinones said.
Hicks has an extensive criminal record in Colorado, including a 2005 charge of attempted murder that was pled down to felony assault.
Officials with the Lakewood Police Department said they could not comment on the case.
Noren, 49, has no known medical conditions.
Lakewood police said in a statement released Friday that Noren’s Samsung Galaxy cellphone may have been in the area of West Sixth Avenue and Simms Street on May 20 or 21.
Noren is known to frequent The Pub, a bar located on Colfax Avenue west of Wadsworth Boulevard.
Police also found Olivia — Noren’s black Labrador described as his “constant companion” — when they searched his home.
Lakewood police ask anyone who found Noren’s phone or has information regarding his whereabouts to call 303-987-7111.
